The program will be held at the Yen Tu Historical Site and Scenic Landscape Complex, as well as at several heritage sites and tourist areas in the ward. This is the program’s second year, building on the achievements of 2025 and aiming to establish “Yen Tu – Meditative Autumn Colors” as a distinctive cultural and tourism product of Yen Tu Ward and Quang Ninh Province.
The program is expected to open in August 2026 at the Yen Tu Historical Site and Scenic Landscape Complex with a special artistic performance and activities to promote and publicize the heritage site. The program will feature a range of highlights, including the 2026 “Best Yen Tu World Heritage Guide” contest; an exhibition of artworks about Yen Tu; the Yen Tu Ultra Trail 2026, themed “Discover the Heritage – Spread its Essence,” from August 21–23; and a Mid-Autumn Festival program with a variety of traditional cultural experiences, scheduled for August 23.
In addition, the 2026 “Yen Tu Chess Champion” Xiangqi Tournament is expected to take place in November. The Yen Tu Heritage Marathon 2026, themed “Touching the Heritage Land,” will be held over two days, November 28–29, at the Yen Tu Historical Site and Scenic Landscape Complex.
Visitors can take part in breathing meditation, yoga and alternate-nostril breathing; enjoy the “Sunrise atop Dong Pagoda,” “Journey to Discover Yen Tu World Heritage” and “Discover the Secrets of the Ancient Palace” tours; join guided relaxation meditation and the “Happiness Is Coming Home” tour; and enjoy the “Yen Tu’s Divine Sounds” artistic performance.
Other experiences include horseback riding, archery, wearing traditional Vietnamese attire and playing folk games. Visitors can enjoy traditional art and the distinctive culture of the Dao Thanh Y people at the “Village Night Show,” accompanied by a lantern procession and floating lanterns. They can also visit a rural market, sample Yen Tu vegetarian cuisine, discover distinctive local products and OCOP products, and browse handmade crafts by the Dao people.
Through the program, Yen Tu Ward aims to preserve, honor and promote the Outstanding Universal Value of the Yen Tu World Cultural Heritage Site; share the philosophical, cultural and humanistic values of the Truc Lam Zen sect, founded by Buddha Emperor Tran Nhan Tong; and promote Yen Tu’s landscapes, people and cultural identity to visitors from Vietnam and around the world.
