1 Introduction to Bai Chay Bridge
1.1 Overview of Bai Chay Bridge
Bai Chay Bridge is located on National Highway 18 in Quang Ninh Province. It connects Bai Chay and Hon Gai, leading directly toward Ha Long Bay. This bridge is also considered a vital route, extremely crucial for the development of the province, especially in the tourism sector. Furthermore, Bai Chay Bridge is recognized as one of the world's five largest single-plane prestressed cable-stayed bridges to date.
To construct this bridge, the provincial government had to allocate a massive expenditure with a budget of billions of dong. It took 20 years for the bridge to finally reach completion after numerous plan changes and revisions before the bridge construction project was approved and swiftly brought to full completion. It can be said that this is one of the key national projects with a particularly strategic location. Currently, Bai Chay Bridge is under the management of the Quang Ninh Provincial Police Department.

1.2 History of Bai Chay Bridge
Bai Chay Bridge began construction in 2003 with a budget of more than 2,140 billion VND. A large portion of this funding was supported by the Japanese government. The construction engineers were also Japanese, thanks to whom we have such a unique architectural work today. Following the "Vietnam - Japan Labor Culture Palace," this is the second project in which Japan assisted us in executing such a structure.
Bai Chay Bridge was officially put into operation on December 2, 2006. Thanks to this bridge, local people can easily travel between both sides of the strait for trade and interaction. The opening of the bridge also served as a catalyst for Quang Ninh's urban tourism network to enter a period of growth, helping domestic and international tourists reach destinations much faster.

2 Admiring the Architecture of Bai Chay Bridge
If you have the chance to visit Quang Ninh, make sure to come here and witness this one-of-a-kind bridge with a length of up to 2,487 meters with your own eyes. MIA.vn is confident that you will be astonished, as the bridge looks like a slender silk ribbon draped across the river, creating a vast and vibrant expanse. What catches your eyes then will surely be admiration for the engineers who put great effort into designing such a magnificent bridge.
Bai Chay Bridge features a design highlighted by stay cables arranged in a single vertical cable plane. Seen from above, Bai Chay Bridge resembles a colossal harp occupying a grand open space. Thanks to the engineering team's excellent technical expertise, they created an elastic sag profile that few places in Vietnam could produce; moreover, the installation of stay cables over long span lengths further demonstrates the pinnacle of construction artistry. The concrete pillars are reinforced with heavy-duty structural steel, with a prestressing system of rhythmic amplitude that once set a world record.
The bridge piers on both sides reach up to 90 m per tower, a condition that allows the bridge to withstand even the harshest weather. This is an advanced technology typically used only in developed countries. It marked the first time in Vietnam that two vertical bridge towers were constructed on pneumatic caisson foundations subjected to heavy load pressures.
Possessing such a peak artistic design, Bai Chay Bridge is truly the pride of the people of the mining land. The beautiful surrounding landscape also contributes to a marvelous panoramic picture, blending multiple elements where the scenery converges to create an irresistible charm for this bridge.
