Entering the 2026 summer tourism season—the peak period of the year—Quang Ninh is demonstrating a proactive and systematic approach to preparations, spanning infrastructure, new products, management, and destination promotion. With the goal of welcoming 22 million visitors, including 5.2 million international tourists, and achieving total tourism revenue of 65,000 billion VND in 2026, Quang Ninh not only expects growth in visitor numbers but is especially focused on enhancing the quality of tourism services, affirming its position as a leading destination in the country and the region.
An "Explosion" of Exciting Events
Kicking off the summer peak season is the Quang Ninh Province Culture, Sports, and Tourism Week welcoming summer 2026, themed "Ha Long Carnaval 2026 - A Wonder Lighting Up a New Era", taking place from April 25 to May 3. It is expected to attract 1.3 million visitors, contributing to achieving the goal for the second quarter of 2026 of welcoming 5.92 million visitors with estimated total revenue of 18,176 billion VND.
The highlight of the Quang Ninh Culture, Sports, and Tourism Week welcoming summer 2026 is the opening art performance program — "Ha Long Carnaval 2026 - A Wonder Lighting Up a New Era", scheduled to open at 20:00 on April 30 at October 30 Square (Ha Long Ward) with a scale of up to 50,000 participants. The program will include a parade, formal ceremony, and artistic performances.
Alongside this is a series of unique events promising to create a vibrant, brilliant festival atmosphere to welcome visitors, such as: the "Five Continents Dance" Street Carnival - Quang Ninh Welcomes Summer, taking place from April 28 to May 2 along the coastal roads of Ha Long, Hong Gai, and Bai Chay wards toward October 30 Square; the "Sounds by the Bay" street music performance from April 28 to May 3 at October 30 Square and the Bai Chay coastal road; and the Parade Float Design and Creation Contest featuring characteristic models of Quang Ninh Province, parading from April 28 to May 2 along the coastal roads of Ha Long, Hong Gai, and Bai Chay wards toward October 30 Square.
In addition, activities such as the Duc Ong Tran Quoc Nghien Temple Festival will also take place over 2 days, from April 29 to 30 at Duc Ong Tran Quoc Nghien Temple; the "Festival Waves" light performance of Ha Long Bay Heritage cruise ships from April 28 to May 2 in coastal waters from Hon Gai Beach - Ha Long International Passenger Port to Tuan Chau International Passenger Port, featuring 50 cruise vessels decorated with synchronized artistic lighting systems, moving in formation along the coastal route combined with music and coastal lighting effects, creating a spectacular visual highlight.
From April 25 to May 3, locals and visitors will also have the opportunity to attend the Quang Ninh Summer Film Week 2026 at the Provincial Planning, Fair and Exhibition Center and the Provincial Museum - Library; the Exhibition of Literary, Art, and Sculpture Works of the Mining Region at October 30 Square and the Bai Chay coastal road; the Ha Long International Food Street at October 30 Square or Sun Carnival Square (Bai Chay Ward); the "Soaring with the Wonder" hot air balloon performance and experience at October 30 Square and Bai Chay Tourist Area (Bai Chay Ward); and the OCOP Product Fair introducing Vietnamese folk arts at Sun Carnival Square, the Provincial Planning, Fair and Exhibition Center, and October 30 Square with 120 local booths along with an array of unique sports activities.
Not only concentrated in Ha Long and Bai Chay wards, localities with strengths in marine and island tourism such as the special zone of Co To, Van Don, Mong Cai 1 Ward, Cai Chien Commune, etc., are also simultaneously rolling out summer-welcoming tourism stimulation programs through engaging cultural, artistic, and sports activities, contributing to spreading the vibrant atmosphere across the entire province.
In parallel, tourism enterprises have also actively engaged by launching numerous new products and appealing promotional packages, while elevating service quality to meet the increasingly diverse demands of travelers during the peak season.
According to a representative of Paradise Vietnam, alongside maintaining the service quality of day and overnight cruises visiting Ha Long Bay, entertainment and recreational activities on the Paradise Delight day cruise have also been adapted to diversify experiences for different traveler groups, such as LED dance performances and DJ sets on the 1st deck, a floating cinema at sea in the 2nd deck restaurant, and musical performances on the sundeck after dinner. Paradise Vietnam is also offering promotional programs for Vietnam Airlines passengers flying to Hanoi, Quang Ninh, and Hai Phong, with discounts of up to 25% on overnight cruise products and 30% on day cruises and hotels, flexibly applied by ticket class. Concurrently, human resource training and development are regularly conducted by the enterprise to keep abreast of trends, elevate experience quality, and provide travelers with premium, safe, and distinctive resort journeys.

This is also where major ports and gateways taking visitors to explore Ha Long Bay are managed. Facing pressure from growing visitor numbers, even before officially entering the peak season, local authorities have proactively tightened management efforts, aiming to project the image of a safe, civilized, and professional destination.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Vice Chairman of the Bai Chay Ward People's Committee, stated: "The locality consistently focuses on building a safe and friendly tourism image. Preparing for the summer tourism season, we are stepping up inspections and reviews of accommodation operations, food safety and hygiene, and public, transparent price listing; firmly handling acts of soliciting, overcharging, and sidewalk or roadway encroachment to ensure an open, civilized tourism environment for visitors."
Positive signals for Quang Ninh tourism have been recorded right from the beginning of the year. In the first quarter of 2026, Quang Ninh Province welcomed approximately 6.3 million visitors, an increase of about 10% compared to the same period in 2025. Of these, domestic visitors reached an estimated nearly 4.9 million, and international visitors reached an estimated 1.4 million. Total tourism revenue in the first quarter of 2026 was estimated at 15,687 billion VND, up 20% compared to the same period in 2026. This is an important foundation for the province to enter the summer with a proactive mindset and expectations of robust growth.
To continue expanding its market, Quang Ninh is intensifying promotion and marketing via multiple channels: participating in international fairs, organizing famtrip and presstrip delegations, and enhancing connections with airlines. Through these efforts, the destination's visibility on the international tourism map is continuously elevated.
