Sa Vi Cape (Got Cape) is the starting point of the S-shaped curve on the map of Vietnam, located in Tra Co Ward, 13 km from the center of Mong Cai. This is the area that welcomes the first sunlight in the North, attracting many tourists.
Sa Vi Cape, a check-in spot at the nation's frontier
Sa Vi Cape marks the northeasternmost frontier of the country; here stands a relief in the shape of three pine trees reaching straight up to the sky, engraved with lines of poetry by To Huu from the poem “How joyful today is…”:
“...From Tra Co's casuarina forest
To Ca Mau's mangrove forest...”
A few steps from the relief is milestone zero, which bears information on the length of our country's coastline: “From Tra Co to Ca Mau Cape 3260 km”.

It is named Sa Vi because whenever the tide recedes, a long, winding sandbank emerges in this area, resembling a dragon's tail. When the water rises, the spot marking the Vietnam – China border becomes a small island.

To the north of Sa Vi Cape is the mouth of the Bac Luan River emptying into the sea, overlooking Dau Got Island (1/3 of the island belongs to Vietnam), facing Chinese territory. Next to Sa Vi Cape is the Sa Vi Border Propaganda Information Complex, which began construction in 2009 and was completed in October 2013.

The structure consists of 3 parts: the square, the main building cluster, and the service house, coming together into a modern cultural architectural ensemble.
In front is the central square area, with two rows of stone pillars made of natural stone from the ancient capital of Hoa Lu, arranged in a sturdy semicircle, standing tall like soldiers guarding the nation's frontier.

The top of the main building cluster features 8 casuarina spires soaring straight into the blue sky, 27m high, cast from permanent concrete and zinc-coated on the surface to withstand weather impacts. The patterns on the structure were inspired by the surface of Dong Son bronze drums.

To reach the main building cluster, visitors must climb the stairs. Standing from above, you can gaze out over the 17km-long coastline of the Mong Cai region. Surrounding the coast is a row of casuarina trees enveloping the mainland, creating a distinctive beauty for this land at the forefront of the country.

With the design of a curved roof structure resting on reinforced concrete pillars sculpted in the shape of the Lac bird, a lively space is created. In the service area of the complex, visitors can choose souvenirs and local specialties of the Tra Co – Mong Cai region and Quang Ninh Province.
Currently, when visiting the Sa Vi border propaganda complex at Sa Vi Cape, visitors can enjoy services such as tandem biking along the beach, artistic roller skating, and photo printing on mugs to capture their memorable moments.

In addition, when visiting this frontier land, visitors can combine their trip with a visit to Tra Co Beach, the longest beach in Vietnam, featuring a firm and spacious flat sand surface where cars can drive without getting bogged down.

The sea at the Tra Co border features gentle, blue waves; on calm days, visitors can rent a boat to go squid fishing. Tra Co squid is small but sweet-fleshed; in a single night, one can catch up to 5 kg of squid to prepare into many delicious dishes.
