Sa Vi Cape (Got Cape) is the starting point of the S-shaped stroke on the map of Vietnam, located in Tra Co Ward, 13 km from the center of Mong Cai. This is the area that welcomes the first rays of sunlight in Northern Vietnam, attracting many tourists.
Sa Vi Cape, a check-in destination at the nation's frontier
Sa Vi Cape marks the northeasternmost tip of the country, featuring a relief of three pine trees reaching straight toward the sky, engraved with lines from poet To Huu's poem “Vui the hom nay…” (So joyful today...):
“...From the casuarina forests of Tra Co
To the mangrove forests of Ca Mau...”
Just a few steps from the relief stands Milestone Kilometer 0, inscribed with information about the length of Vietnam's coastline: “From Tra Co to Ca Mau Cape 3260 km”.

It is named Sa Vi because whenever the tide recedes, a long, winding sandbank emerges, resembling a dragon's tail. When the tide rises, the spot marking the Vietnam – China border landmark becomes a small island.

To the north of Sa Vi Cape lies the mouth of the Bac Luan River emptying into the sea, overlooking Dau Got Island (one-third of which belongs to Vietnam), facing the Chinese mainland. Next to Sa Vi Cape is the Sa Vi Border Information and Propaganda Complex, whose construction began in 2009 and was completed in October 2013.

The complex consists of three parts: the square, the main building cluster, and the service center, coming together as a modern cultural and architectural ensemble.
In front is the central square area, featuring two rows of stone pillars crafted from natural stone of the ancient capital of Hoa Lu, arranged in a sturdy semicircle that stands proudly like soldiers guarding the country's frontier.

At the top of the main building cluster are 8 casuarina-leaf spires soaring into the blue sky, standing 27m high, cast from durable concrete and coated with a layer of zinc on the surface to withstand weathering. The motifs on the monument are inspired by the Dong Son bronze drum surface.

To reach the main complex, visitors climb a flight of stairs. Standing from above, you can take in the panoramic view of Mong Cai's 17km-long coastline. Surrounding the coast are rows of casuarina trees sheltering the mainland, lending a distinctive charm to this border region.

With a curved roof structure resting on reinforced concrete pillars adorned with depictions of Lac birds, it creates a vivid architectural space. In the complex's service area, visitors can choose souvenirs and local specialties of Tra Co – Mong Cai and Quang Ninh Province.
Today, when visiting the Sa Vi information and propaganda complex at Sa Vi Cape, visitors can enjoy services such as tandem cycling along the coast, roller skating, and printing photos onto cups to preserve memorable moments.

In addition, when visiting this frontier land, visitors can combine their trip with a visit to Tra Co Beach, the longest beach in Vietnam, featuring firm, flat, and spacious sand where cars can drive without getting bogged down.

The sea at the Tra Co border has gentle, blue waves; on calm days, visitors can hire boats to go squid fishing. Although Tra Co squid are small, their meat is sweet, and in a single night one can catch up to 5kg of squid to prepare into many delicious dishes.
