Autumn (September to November)
Autumn in Quang Ninh usually brings cool and pleasant weather, with fewer storms than in summer. It is an ideal time to visit Ha Long Bay and explore the caves. However, the seawater may no longer be as warm as in summer and may not be ideal for swimming.
Winter and Spring (December to April)
Winter and spring in Quang Ninh are fairly cold, with enchanting misty scenery, making this period suitable for pilgrimages to Yen Tu. It is not suitable for swimming or water activities. Dense fog can reduce visibility when admiring Ha Long Bay.

5.1 Ha Long Squid Patties
Ha Long squid patties are a legendary highlight of Quang Ninh cuisine that you should try. The dish has become a culinary symbol of Ha Long and is known throughout the country.
Ha Long squid patties are prepared traditionally, with cuttlefish pounded by hand instead of ground by machine. Hand-pounding helps retain the squid’s natural crispness and chewiness without crushing the meat fibers. The squid is seasoned and then fried until golden and crispy.
