Pac Sui Waterfall – An Attractive Eco-Tourism Destination in the Mountainous Region of Tien Yen

Pac Sui Waterfall is located in Pac Sui Village, in the highlands of Tien Yen District. The waterfall is praised as the place where the dawn awakens, associated with the legend of the Rooster King—a symbol of strength, perseverance, and the aspiration to summon the dawn to dispel the darkness.

Following the winding road for about 8km from Tien Yen town, a magnificent natural landscape unfolds before visitors' eyes. Pac Sui Waterfall stretches for kilometers, originating from the peak of Trau Dam Mountain and cascading across 16 levels with numerous fascinating rock formations.

Each tier of the waterfall possesses a distinct beauty, and below every two tiers lies a small pool with clear, blue, and shallow water. The upper tiers of Pac Sui Waterfall are consistently more beautiful than the lower ones. Some tiers plunge vertically with roaring, frothing white cascades, while others flow gently with soft murmurs and trickles, and some resemble the long, flowing hair of a maiden.

Pac Sui Waterfall means "white water," as the water cascades from above, creating foaming white spray across the forest mountains. In recent times, the waterfall has transformed itself into an attractive eco-tourism destination that captivates visitors.

Previously, to reach Pac Sui Waterfall, visitors had to trek through rather challenging jungle trails. However, traveling has now become convenient; cars can drive all the way to the foot of the waterfall as the road connecting National Highway 18A to the base has been fully concreted.

Notably, Tien Yen District recently invested more than 10 billion VND in upgrading infrastructure, including a spacious concrete parking lot, a paved road for cars leading directly to the foot of the waterfall, two stone-step walking paths, three bridges across streams, faux-wood staircases, and more.

At Pac Sui Waterfall, you can walk along the stone steps flanked on both sides to admire the beauty of the waterfall tiers and comfortably take in the natural scenery. Visitors can also follow the rocky banks upstream to explore the upper tiers, or relax on large boulders and immerse themselves in the cool, refreshing water.

Around the foot of the waterfall, various novel tourism and accommodation services have emerged to meet the needs of visitors, particularly services offered by the Dao Thanh Phan ethnic people in the mountainous area of Tien Yen.

Dining and culinary services have also expanded considerably, most uniquely featuring local specialties such as Tien Yen hill chicken, grilled local pork, gat gu rice rolls, five-color sticky rice, and khau nhuc (braised pork belly). In addition, services include traditional ethnic costume rentals, camping tables and chairs rental, inflatable boat rentals, and more.

Amidst the lush green forests and mountains, Pac Sui Waterfall resembles a hidden mountain maiden—at times gentle and enchanting, at others fierce and forceful.
