Pạc Sủi Waterfall – An Attractive Eco-Tourism Destination in the Mountainous Area of Tiên Yên

Pạc Sủi Waterfall is located in Pạc Sủi Village, in the highlands of Tiên Yên District. The waterfall is praised as the place where dawn awakens, associated with the legendary story of the Chicken King, a symbol of strength, perseverance, and the aspiration to summon dawn and dispel the dark shadows.

Following the winding road from Tiên Yên Town for about 8km, visitors are greeted by a majestic natural landscape. Pạc Sủi Waterfall features a cascade stretching for kilometers, originating from the summit of Trâu Đầm Mountain and passing through 16 tiers, with numerous intriguingly shaped rock slabs.

Each waterfall tier has its own beauty, and below every two tiers lies a small pool with clear, shallow water. The upper tiers of Pạc Sủi Waterfall are always more beautiful than the lower ones. Some tiers are steep and vertical, with water roaring and churning into clouds of white foam; others are gentle, murmuring and trickling softly; while some resemble the long, flowing hair of a young woman.

Pạc Sủi Waterfall (white water) is so named because the water cascades from above, spraying white foam across the mountains and forests. In recent years, the waterfall has transformed into an attractive eco-tourism destination that keeps visitors coming back.

Previously, to reach Pạc Sủi Waterfall, visitors had to trek along a rather difficult forest path. However, travel is now more convenient: cars can reach the foot of the waterfall because the entire road connecting National Highway 18A to the waterfall’s base has been concreted.

In particular, Tiên Yên District recently invested more than 10 billion VND in upgrading the infrastructure, including a spacious concrete-paved parking area, a road for cars reaching the foot of the waterfall; 2 stone-step walking paths; 3 bridges over the stream; wooden-look stairways…

At Pạc Sủi Waterfall, you can walk along the stone steps on both sides of the waterfall to admire the beauty of its tiers and comfortably enjoy the natural scenery. Visitors can also follow the rocky banks upstream to explore the higher tiers, or sit and rest on the rocks, immersing themselves in the cool water.

Around the foot of the waterfall, many new tourism services and accommodation options have opened to meet visitors’ needs, particularly services provided by the Dao Thanh Phán people in the mountainous area of Tiên Yên.

Many food and culinary services have also opened, most notably local specialties such as Tiên Yên chicken, grilled free-range pork, gật gù rice rolls, five-colored sticky rice, and khâu nhục. There are also services offering ethnic costume rentals, camping table and chair rentals, and float and boat rentals…
