With 152 accommodation establishments, more than 2,200 rooms and upgraded infrastructure, the locality is ready to welcome large numbers of visitors this summer. The “Van Don - Awakening Summer” event series, taking place from 30/4-2/5, features a range of attractive activities, helping to liven up the atmosphere at the start of the travel season. According to Dao Van Vu, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Van Don Special Zone, since early April the locality has stepped up measures to tighten price management and improve service quality, while strengthening inspections of environmental sanitation and public order at tourism sites. The locality is also focusing on improving service quality at accommodation establishments, restaurants and hotels in a professional and friendly manner, meeting visitors’ needs more effectively.
At Co To, the tourism environment continues to be given top priority. Famous beaches such as Hong Van and Van Chay, as well as the Mong Rong rocky beach area, are receiving increased cleaning, waste collection and landscape improvement efforts to preserve a green, clean and beautiful image. The locality has also stepped up inspections and monitoring of service business activities at the beaches, ensuring compliance with regulations and preventing touting, price hikes and other issues that could affect the image of local tourism. To accommodate the expected increase in visitors, tourism businesses and establishments in the area have proactively reviewed and maintained their facilities, transport vehicles and visitor-serving equipment, ensuring safe, high-quality and hygienic operations. Fire prevention and firefighting, public order, rescue and emergency response, and disease prevention measures are being implemented in a coordinated manner. During the peak period, businesses are also arranging sufficient staff to meet increased visitor demand and avoid overloading. In particular, food safety and hygiene are being given top priority. According to Nguyen Thuy Yen, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, localities and relevant agencies have strengthened inspections and supervision at tourism zones and sites, resolutely prohibiting unauthorized mountain climbing and exploration in areas that have not been licensed or do not meet safety requirements. Warning signs, prohibition signs and barriers have been reviewed and fully supplemented in areas with potential accident risks. At the same time, the authorities are regularly deployed to issue reminders and promptly prevent violations, ensuring that visitors do not independently approach dangerous areas.
