On the evening of April 25, at Halong Marine Plaza Shopping Center (Halong Marina Urban Area, Bai Chay Ward), the Quang Ninh Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Board held the opening ceremony of the International Food Street - Ha Long 2026. Attending the opening ceremony were Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of provincial departments, sectors and agencies, along with large numbers of local residents and visitors exploring and experiencing the event.
The International Food Street - Ha Long 2026 features 154 stalls introducing signature culinary dishes and OCOP products from localities inside and outside the province. The space is designed with 54 culinary “train carriages” representing the province’s 54 communes, wards and special administrative zones.
Here, visitors have the opportunity to enjoy the essence of local cuisine and discover Quang Ninh’s signature OCOP products, particularly dishes associated with the culture of the sea and islands, such as Ha Long squid paste and Van Don peanut worms… The event is also an opportunity to exchange and promote the culinary cultures of regions across the country and of several countries around the world, including Laos, India, China, Thailand, Japan and South Korea…
When coming to the International Food Street - Ha Long, local residents and visitors are welcome to participate in many exciting activities, such as experiencing VR 360 virtual reality technology to explore Quang Ninh’s prominent destinations, including Co To, Yen Tu, Ha Long Bay and Tran Quoc Nghien Temple; joining traditional folk games and making tò he figurines; participating in mini-games and a lucky wheel, and scanning QR codes to receive vouchers for enjoying the cuisine... In addition, free workshops themed “Discovering Quang Ninh Cuisine” allow visitors to learn firsthand how to prepare traditional dishes such as squid paste, fermented pork rolls and spring rolls, …
The highlight of the opening ceremony of the International Food Street - Ha Long 2026 was the butchering of a 218kg Japanese bluefin tuna. The performance used a Japanese sword worth VND 300 million to bring the full essence of the ocean to diners in Ha Long.
With its large scale and diverse activities, the International Food Street - Ha Long 2026 is expected to create an attraction for visitors during the April 30 - May 1 holiday, helping promote Quang Ninh’s cultural and tourism image to large numbers of domestic and international residents and visitors.
