On the evening of April 25, at Halong Marine Plaza Commercial Center (Halong Marina Urban Area, Bai Chay Ward), the Quang Ninh Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Agency held the opening ceremony of International Food Street - Ha Long 2026. Attending the opening ceremony were Comrade Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of provincial departments, agencies, and units, along with a large number of local residents and tourists visiting and experiencing the event.
International Food Street - Ha Long 2026 features 154 booths, introducing distinctive culinary dishes and OCOP products from localities inside and outside the province. The space is designed with 54 culinary “train cars” representing 54 communes, wards, and special zones in the province.
Here, visitors have the opportunity to savor culinary quintessence and discover characteristic OCOP products of Quang Ninh, especially dishes associated with sea and island culture such as: Ha Long squid patties, Van Don peanut worms... The event is also an occasion to exchange and promote the culinary cultures of regions across the country and several nations around the world such as: Laos, India, China, Thailand, Japan, South Korea...
Coming to International Food Street - Ha Long, residents and tourists can participate in many attractive activities such as: Experiencing VR 360 virtual reality technology to explore prominent destinations of Quang Ninh such as Co To, Yen Tu, Ha Long Bay, Tran Quoc Nghien Temple; immersing in folk games and making tò he figurines; joining mini-games, lucky spin wheels, scanning QR codes to receive food vouchers... In addition, free workshops themed “Discovering Quang Ninh Cuisine” help visitors directly learn how to prepare traditional dishes such as squid patties, fermented pork rolls, fried spring rolls, etc.
The highlight of the opening ceremony of International Food Street - Ha Long 2026 was the cutting demonstration of a 218kg Japanese ocean bluefin tuna. The performance used a Japanese sword worth 300 million VND to bring the full quintessence of the ocean to treat diners in Ha Long.
With its large scale and a rich variety of activities, the International Food Street - Ha Long 2026 is expected to create a highlight attracting visitors during the April 30 - May 1 holiday, contributing to promoting the cultural and tourism image of Quang Ninh to a large number of people as well as domestic and international tourists.
