On the evening of April 25, in Bai Chay Ward, Sun Group held the opening ceremony for the VUI-Fest Ha Long night market—an entertainment and culinary complex styled as a “prosperous trading port”—bringing a truly unique nighttime experience by the heritage bay. Attending the opening ceremony were Comrade Quan Minh Cuong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; leaders of several departments, sectors, and units, along with numerous local residents and tourists.
Inspired by the image of a “prosperous trading port”, VUI-Fest Ha Long night market is situated within the Sun Elite City urban area, right next to Ha Long International Passenger Port. This entertainment and culinary complex recreates the bustling trading spirit of the heritage land in a contemporary appearance, where indigenous culture converges with modern life.
Here, locals and tourists can experience a vibrant entertainment and culinary space; a harbor-inspired art stage featuring street bands and DJs; creative experience stations; an auction area; and a diverse system of food kiosks combining local specialties with international flavors, contributing to completing the nighttime entertainment and dining ecosystem.
The highlight of the opening night was the red-sailed boat water performance—a symbolic icon of tourism in the heritage land. The performance opened with an elaborately choreographed formation of six crimson-sailed boats. The harmonious combination of music and lighting effects created the imagery of a “dragon of light” soaring across the bay's surface, symbolizing the legend of the creation of the Ha Long wonder.
Following that was an emotionally “explosive” high-altitude fireworks display with thousands of shells producing over 50 multi-tiered effects across the night sky of the heritage bay, combined with music and a modern lighting system to create an impressive visual spectacle.
Expected in May 2026, within the grounds of VUI-Fest Ha Long at the Lighthouse area, the 3D Mapping light art performance “Long Van Khanh Hoi” will be staged—where the story of the heritage land is told through modern technology, creating an additional unique cultural highlight in the festive space by the bay.
Putting the VUI-Fest Ha Long entertainment and culinary complex into operation is expected to create a new highlight for Quang Ninh tourism, enhance the destination's competitiveness, and advance toward the goal of sustainable, four-season tourism development.
