In addition to the pine forests, the bamboo groves also play a vital role at Yen Tu, embodying the noble spirit of an upright gentleman and inspiring King Tran Nhan Tong when naming the Truc Lam Zen sect he founded. Historically, King Tran Nhan Tong chose to stay at Yen Tu instead of returning to his hometown to pursue his monastic life. The king had villages established at the foot of Yen Tu Mountain for his imperial consorts and concubines to live. Over time, these villages gradually vanished, but today, Lang Nuong Yen Tu has recreated a space that bears the distinctive marks of Northern Vietnam during the Tran Dynasty.
