On the evening of April 25, in Bai Chay Ward, Sun Group held the grand opening ceremony of VUI-Fest Ha Long night market, an entertainment and culinary complex styled as a “prosperous trading port,” offering an exceptionally unique nighttime experience beside the heritage bay. Attending the opening ceremony were Comrade Quan Minh Cuong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the province’s National Assembly Delegation; leaders of several departments, sectors and units; and a large number of local residents and visitors.
Inspired by the image of a “prosperous trading port,” VUI-Fest Ha Long night market is located in the Sun Elite City urban area, right next to Ha Long International Passenger Ship Port. This entertainment and culinary complex recreates the bustling trading spirit of the heritage region in a contemporary form, where local culture converges with the rhythm of modern life.
Here, local residents and visitors can experience a distinctive entertainment and culinary space; a port-inspired art stage featuring street bands and DJs; a creative experience station; an auction area; and a diverse system of culinary kiosks combining local specialties with international flavors, helping complete the nighttime entertainment and culinary ecosystem.
The highlight of the opening night was the red-sailboat water performance—the symbolic image of tourism in the heritage region. The show opened with an elaborate appearance by a formation of six deep-red sailboats. The harmonious combination of music and lighting effects created the image of a “dragon of light” rising across the bay, symbolizing the legend behind the formation of Ha Long’s natural wonder.
This was followed by an emotionally “explosive” high-altitude fireworks display, with thousands of fireworks creating more than 50 multi-layered effects across the sky above the heritage bay. Combined with music and a modern lighting system, the display created an impressive visual spectacle.
In May 2026, the “Long Van Khanh Hoi” 3D Mapping program is expected to take place in the Lighthouse area within VUI-Fest Ha Long. The light-art performance will tell the story of the heritage region through modern technology, creating another unique cultural highlight in the festival space beside the bay.
The launch of the VUI-Fest Ha Long entertainment and culinary complex is expected to create a new highlight for tourism in Quang Ninh, enhance the destination’s competitiveness, and contribute to the goal of developing year-round, sustainable tourism.
