To offer visitors a diverse and captivating range of experiences while stepping up the promotion of its tourism brand, Quang Ninh Province will host a series of events to boost autumn-winter tourism in 2026 under the theme “Quang Ninh City: Reaching New Heights with Heritage.”
The program is divided into two phases, each linked to key dates. Phase 1 takes place in August and September and coincides with the announcement of Quang Ninh becoming a city, the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945–2026), and Vietnam’s National Day (September 2, 1945–2026). Phase 2 runs from October to December, the peak period for commemorating the province’s founding (October 30), year-end festivals, Christmas, and New Year’s Day 2027.
As an initial highlight, the province will hold a tourism promotion and welcome week for Quang Ninh City, titled “Quang Ninh – Welcome to the New City,” from August 24 to September 5. Special offers will be available to mark the occasion, alongside promotions on accommodation, dining, sightseeing, and other services. The province will also welcome famtrip and presstrip groups to explore Quang Ninh’s tourism offerings and coordinate with a series of cultural and sporting events organized by the province, departments, agencies, and local authorities.
In particular, Quang Ninh will host a series of distinctive cultural and artistic events. The highlight will be a special arts program for an audience of around 100,000, broadcast live at 8:10 p.m. on August 28 from the area around October 30 Square and Tran Quoc Nghien Coastal Road (Ha Long Ward and Hong Gai Ward).
Other activities taking place concurrently include a light show featuring more than 70 tourist boats on the Ha Long Bay Heritage Site from August 26 to 28; a drone light show at October 30 Square on August 28; 3D mapping projections on the exterior of the Quang Ninh Planning, Fair and Exhibition Palace from August 28 to September 2; and a food festival along Tran Quoc Nghien Road on August 27 and 28, promoting local culinary culture and specialties for residents and visitors.
Quang Ninh will also host the Quang Ninh OCOP Fair – Autumn-Winter 2026 from August 27 to September 6 at the Quang Ninh Planning, Fair and Exhibition Palace, along with sports, recreation, and entertainment activities at the beaches in the Bai Chay and Tuan Chau areas. In addition, Halo Bay Show, Vui Fest Night Market, and artistic fireworks displays will continue to take place on weekdays for residents and visitors.
As part of this year’s autumn-winter tourism promotion campaign, Quang Ninh has developed two flagship programs. The “Ha Long Bay – Yen Tu Heritage Passport” will feature programs and products connected with the Ha Long Bay World Natural Heritage Site; the Yen Tu relics and scenic complex, a cultural heritage site; the Bach Dang Historical Site; Quang Ninh Museum; and traditional craft villages across the province. It will also offer vouchers for culinary experiences and the province’s OCOP products. The “Quang Ninh – Festival Destination” program will focus on products linked to a series of cultural, artistic, and light events, combined with other cultural, artistic, sports, and tourism activities to capture the interest of visitors and residents and encourage sightseeing and overnight stays.
Many other events will be held between now and the end of the year to create a lively atmosphere and attract visitors. These include cultural, artistic, tourism, and culinary events featuring Quang Ninh, Vietnam, and Guangxi, China; the Quang Ninh Culinary Festival; the Yen Tu Autumn Festival; sports tournaments, martial arts performances, and folk dance events; and artistic programs showcasing the diverse regional and ethnic identities of Quang Ninh Province.
This series of cultural, sporting, culinary, and artistic events and festivals will offer visitors new, diverse, and captivating experiences while improving tourism products and services, accelerating the adoption of digital technology, and enhancing service quality and the visitor experience. It will also sustain growth and attract more tourists during autumn and winter 2026, helping the province meet its annual target of welcoming 23 million visitors and generating approximately VND 70,000 billion in tourism revenue. These efforts will help promote Quang Ninh’s image and tourism brand, reinforce the message “Quang Ninh Tourism – Safe, Friendly, Attractive, Professional,” and strengthen its position as a leading destination in Vietnam and the region.
