As the peak summer travel season begins, the number of visitors arriving in Quang Ninh for sightseeing and leisure is rising sharply. To continue affirming its image as a “Safe - friendly - welcoming” destination, the province’s and local authorities’ functional forces have proactively and simultaneously implemented numerous measures to ensure security and public order, traffic safety, and to effectively meet tourists’ sightseeing and leisure needs.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, during the recent 30 April-1 May holiday, the province welcomed approximately 910,000 visitors, including around 37,000 international visitors; total tourism revenue was estimated at VND 2.82 trillion. Combined, during the Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day and 30 April-1 May holidays, Quang Ninh welcomed approximately 1.345 million visitors, with estimated tourism revenue exceeding VND 4.165 trillion.
At the tourist area of Bai Chay, the number of visitors staying overnight and attending cultural and tourism events rose sharply during the holiday. Nearly 6,700 visitors stayed at hotels and guesthouses in the area alone. Proactively keeping a firm grasp on the situation, Bai Chay Ward Police closely coordinated with professional divisions of the Provincial Police and police forces in neighboring localities to strengthen the review, identification and monitoring of key subjects; deployed numerous working teams to remain stationed in the area; and inspected compliance with legal regulations at conditional business establishments concerning security and public order, preventing crime and social evils from arising. In addition, the ward police coordinated with Road Traffic Police Team No. 2 (Traffic Police Division, Provincial Police) to develop plans for traffic regulation and diversion early and remotely, minimizing the risk of congestion at crowded tourist areas and entertainment venues.
Major Do Quang Trung (Order Police Unit, Bai Chay Ward Police) said: As the peak summer travel season begins, the number of visitors to Quang Ninh is rising sharply, especially on weekends and holidays. To ensure security and public order and traffic safety, the unit assigned officers and personnel to oversee key areas and major traffic intersections; at the same time, it advised arranging additional parking lots for tourist and tour buses to limit traffic congestion caused by stopping and parking.
During the recent holiday, although large numbers of tourists and vehicles gathered in the area, security and public order were maintained and no complicated incidents occurred. Through patrols, the police force also helped two lost children reunite with their families.
Not only the central urban areas but also Quang Ninh’s sea-and-island tourism routes attracted large numbers of domestic and international visitors. During the recent Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day and 30 April-1 May holidays, approximately 2,700 boat trips transported more than 120,000 visitors to explore Ha Long Bay and the island routes. Although travel demand rose sharply compared with the same period in 2025, waterway transport operations remained stable and safe.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Von (a tourist from Hung Yen) shared: Throughout the journey from home to Quang Ninh and the entire Ha Long Bay tour, I found the traffic organization very scientific, with early diversion, so there were no prolonged traffic jams. Despite the large number of visitors, security and public order were maintained, with no pushing or jostling.
Lieutenant Colonel Vuong Anh Quoc, captain of the Waterway Police Team (Traffic Police Division, Provincial Police), said that the unit would continue strengthening its presence and maintaining a firm grasp of the area, while improving situation forecasting to develop plans to ensure security and public order and traffic safety on the waterways. At the same time, the functional forces are stepping up legal education and resolutely taking strict action against violations that pose potential safety risks.
The summer travel season is also a time when pupils, teenagers and young people take part in many recreational and tourism activities with their families. Meanwhile, the risks of traffic accidents and drowning accidents continue to present potentially complicated developments. Following the directions of the Ministry of Public Security and the province, police in communes, wards and special administrative zones will continue reviewing and proposing the installation of warning signs in dangerous areas; and coordinating the management and education of teenagers and young people showing signs of violations at an early stage and from the grassroots level.
Professional divisions of the Provincial Police will also continue coordinating with commune-level police to strengthen their grasp of local conditions, strictly manage conditional business establishments concerning security and public order, and simultaneously implement measures to effectively prevent and combat various types of crime and violations of the law.
With the proactive efforts of the functional forces and close coordination among sectors and localities, Quang Ninh is striving to maintain a safe, civilized and friendly tourism environment, helping further affirm its position as one of the country’s leading attractive destinations during this year’s summer travel season.
