Located in Bang Ca Commune, Hoanh Bo District, Da Chong Mountain possesses a unique shape with dozens of rock slabs stacked atop each other, precariously perched at a height of hundreds of meters, with contact points between some slabs measuring only about one square meter.

Da Chong Mountain is closely associated with legends and local landmarks such as Khe Mung, Khe Lieu, and Phuong Hoang Mountain... and is also a sacred mountain for the Dao Thanh Y ethnic group. In ancient times, a celestial general led his troops through this region. After marching a long distance without finding any drinking water, they finally reached the area of today's Da Chong Mountain, where they discovered a crystal-clear stream.

Overjoyed, he ordered his troops to halt. However, because the army was large and the stream was narrow and long, he used his hands to widen the stream so that all his soldiers would have enough water to drink. Absorbed in his work, the rising stream water soaked the flap of his robe. He took off his armor to find a place to dry it, using a pole stretched across the two peaks of Dai Rock Mountain and Chong Rock Mountain.

However, because the summit of Chong Rock was lower than that of Dai Rock, he gathered boulders and placed them atop the peak to level both sides before laying the pole across to dry his clothes. That stream was subsequently named Khe Mung, and the mountain where he rested his drying pole became known as Da Chong Mountain.

To admire the panoramic view of Da Chong Mountain, visitors can travel to Bang Ca Commune, take a boat across the lake, stop at Khe Mung, and then trek to the summit. For those who love adventure and conquering heights, they can traverse the Su Tu (Lion) rock range to reach the peak of Chong Mountain.

A sea of clouds often appears halfway up the mountain, embracing the entire pine forest surrounding Yen Lap Lake. Perched at an altitude of over 400m above sea level, the unique beauty of Da Chong Mountain makes it an alluring destination.

To explore Da Chong Mountain, visitors should equip themselves with lifebuoys and life jackets, as well as prepare food and water. In particular, it is essential to hire a local guide and strictly avoid climbing onto the tips of the rock outcrops, as this is extremely dangerous for any traveler.
