On the afternoon of March 22, at Novotel Ha Long Bay Hotel (Bai Chay Ward), the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism collaborated with Visit Indochina Company (Da Nang City) to organize a program connecting, introducing, and promoting Quang Ninh tourism to a famtrip delegation comprising representatives of 60 travel businesses from Chiang Mai and Bangkok, Thailand.
With a population of nearly 72 million people, an average income of about 7,000 USD/person/year, along with the advantage of close geographical proximity and a visa exemption policy upon entering Vietnam, Thailand is identified as one of the highly potential markets for Vietnam's tourism in general and Quang Ninh in particular.
During this famtrip program, Thai travel businesses directly surveyed and experienced typical tourism products of the province, such as the Yen Tu Monuments and Landscapes Complex, cruises on Ha Long Bay, and the live-action show in Ngoc Rong Cave at the Vung Duc historical site complex... Based on this, they assessed feasibility and developed tours suited to the needs and preferences of the Thai market.
In parallel with field survey activities, the program also organized a business-to-business (B2B) networking session, creating favorable conditions for travel businesses from both sides to exchange ideas and develop package tourism products combining transportation, accommodation, and experience services at competitive prices suitable for each customer segment.
Through experiential activities and direct meetings, the Thai famtrip delegation highly appreciated the potential and outstanding advantages of Quang Ninh, especially its unique tourism resources featuring the World Natural Heritage Ha Long Bay, the World Cultural Heritage Yen Tu Monuments and Landscapes Complex, along with synchronized tourism infrastructure, convenient transportation, and rich culinary identity. This is considered an important foundation to strongly attract Thai tourists in the coming time.
This famtrip program not only contributed to establishing specific cooperative relationships between businesses from both sides, but also opened up orientations for developing specialized tourism products for the Thai market, promoting two-way tourist exchange, while enhancing the competitiveness and stature of Quang Ninh tourism in the regional and international markets.
Speaking at the event, a representative of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism affirmed that this is a significant activity in Quang Ninh's strategy to expand its international market. At the same time, they committed to continuing to accompany, create favorable conditions, and provide maximum support for Thai businesses to explore, cooperate, and effectively tap into the local tourism market.
