On the afternoon of March 22, at Novotel Ha Long Bay Hotel (Bai Chay Ward), the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with Visit Indochina Company (Da Nang City), organized a program to connect, introduce, and promote Quang Ninh tourism to a famtrip delegation comprising representatives of 60 travel agencies from Chiang Mai and Bangkok, Thailand.
With a population of nearly 72 million people, an average per capita income of approximately 7,000 USD/person/year, along with the advantage of geographical proximity and visa exemption policies when entering Vietnam, Thailand is identified as a highly potential market for Vietnam's tourism in general and Quang Ninh in particular.
During this famtrip program, Thai travel businesses directly surveyed and experienced typical tourism products of the province, such as: Yen Tu Complex of Monuments and Landscapes; cruises on Ha Long Bay; real-scene performance show inside Ngoc Rong (Dragon Gem) Cave at the Vung Duc historical site complex... From there, they assessed the potential and developed tour routes tailored to the needs and preferences of the Thai market.
In parallel with field survey activities, the program also organized a business-to-business (B2B) networking session, creating favorable conditions for travel agencies from both sides to exchange ideas and build package tourism products that combine transportation, accommodation, and experiential services at competitive prices suitable for each customer segment.
Through experiential activities and direct meetings, the Thai famtrip delegation highly appreciated the outstanding potential and advantages of Quang Ninh, especially its unique tourism resources featuring the World Natural Heritage site of Ha Long Bay, the World Cultural Heritage site of Yen Tu Complex of Monuments and Landscapes, along with synchronous tourism infrastructure, convenient transportation, and rich culinary identity. This is considered an important foundation to strongly attract inflows of Thai tourists in the coming time.
This famtrip program not only contributes to establishing concrete cooperative relationships between businesses of both sides, but also opens up directions for developing specialized tourism products for the Thai market, promoting two-way tourist exchanges, and at the same time enhancing the competitiveness and stature of Quang Ninh tourism in the regional and international markets.
Speaking at the event, a representative of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism affirmed that this is an activity of significant importance in Quang Ninh's international market expansion strategy. At the same time, the representative committed to continuing to accompany, facilitate, and provide maximum support for Thai businesses to explore, cooperate, and effectively exploit the local tourism market.
