The political-artistic program “Quang Ninh - The Heroic Mining Land” is a symphony of politics, art, and technology, honoring the heroic traditions, present strength, and future aspirations of the people of the Mining Region. At the same time, the program is a profound tribute to generations of mine workers and a proud song about the people of Quang Ninh—and, above all, about the love for the homeland and country that always surges in the hearts of every Vietnamese.

The concert “Quang Ninh - The Heroic Mining Land” takes its theme from “Discipline and Unity” to “The Aspiration to Lead” and consists of three continuous chapters that flow seamlessly in emotion. In Chapter 1: From the Earth - the Flame of Faith, the audience embarks on a journey back through time, returning to heroic memories and the origin of a resilient, indomitable Quang Ninh filled with national pride. Deep inside the mines, the flame of faith was kindled—the light of freedom, of the Party, and of the unconquered people of the Mining Region. This opening chapter recreated the history of the birth of Quang Ninh’s miners’ movement—from years of forced labor and oppression to the fiery general strike of 1936, the starting point of the immortal tradition of “Discipline and Unity.” It was all recreated concisely through the clip “The Flame from Deep in the Mine” and the staging “Echoes of the Mine, The Internationale,” followed by a series of songs: “Together We March as the Red Army,” “The Party Is the Spring of the Worker.”

Chapter 2: Discipline - Unity: The Source of Strength once again affirmed that the spirit of “Discipline and Unity” is not only a heroic memory but also the source of strength driving Quang Ninh forward in construction, innovation, and creativity. The song “The Heroic Mining Land,” performed in the majestic voice of People’s Artist Quang Tho together with the Oplus group, recreated that indomitable spirit, which continues to burn in the hearts of miners, inspiring them to work and contribute with the will of soldiers, singing labor songs amid bombs and bullets, so that from deep within the earth, coal continues to rise and the light never goes out. And today, on this land radiant with the colors of coal and sea sunshine, miners’ hands continue their tireless work, sowing the seeds of hope so that future generations may follow in their footsteps and explore the future.

Concluding with Chapter 3: Quang Ninh - The Aspiration to Rise in a New Era, the program portrayed how the heroic mining land of the past has become a leading province on today’s journey of renewal. Quang Ninh has risen strongly, becoming a symbol of breakthroughs, creativity, and sustainable development. Building on the tradition of “Discipline and Unity,” the people of Quang Ninh continue to dare to think and dare to act, transforming the former “black gold” land into an economic, tourism, and green energy hub of the country. From mines to cities, from coal hills to seaports, the spirit of renewal and the aspiration to reach farther shine brightly everywhere. Today, Quang Ninh is not only the pride of the Northeast but also a symbol of a modern, green, and sustainable Vietnam—a land moving toward the sunlight and opening up the future with the aspiration to rise in a new era.
The audience “gave it their all” during an emotionally explosive music night about the heroic Mining Region.
Thirty thousand audience members attended the program, while millions more followed it through the live television broadcast, all enjoying a meaningful and colorful musical “feast.” Everyone sang along and reached emotional heights in a brilliant, moving chorus of pride, honoring the traditions, spirit, and aspirations of the heroic people of the Mining Region today.
Ms. Pham Thi Anh, from Cao Xanh Ward, shared: As a young person watching this concert, I felt extremely moved and proud of my homeland, Quang Ninh. I feel truly fortunate to have been born and raised in such a land of rich traditions. Every song about the Mining Region brought back many memories and beautiful images of coal industry workers. This is certainly the most emotional concert I have ever attended.
The concert “Quang Ninh - The Heroic Mining Land” combined traditional songs of the Mining Region with contemporary music, creating many explosive moments and spreading pride in a youthful, integrated Quang Ninh. Many songs were refreshed, creating arrangements that were both unfamiliar and familiar, combined with magnificent stage effects to generate an explosion of emotion and surging energy. Perhaps those who felt the greatest pride and emotion were the workers and miners, honored and thanked not only through artistic performances but also through the affection and gratitude of thousands of cheering audience members.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, a retired worker of Ha Lam Coal Joint Stock Company, shared: We were deeply moved watching this program and witnessing the development of the coal industry. It is not only our history but also our lives and livelihoods; our families, friends, and loved ones—all are closely connected to the coal industry. Perhaps we have never before seen such a grand-scale program about the coal industry. We thank the Organizing Committee for giving us such a meaningful and memorable gift.
With its cohesive structure and meticulous investment, the program made the audience feel as though they were witnessing firsthand the heroic history of the Mining Region and clearly sensing the aspiration to rise from the source of tradition and from the ordinary yet resilient and indomitable people who shaped it. It was like the way every child of the Mining Region listens to each sound of history, reminding themselves always to remember their roots and continue contributing to and building an increasingly prosperous and beautiful homeland.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: The concert “Quang Ninh - The Heroic Mining Land” is not only a tribute to generations of coal industry workers and to Quang Ninh’s Mining Region, but also one of the events in Quang Ninh’s Autumn-Winter tourism stimulus series. From now until the end of the year, the province will organize additional special cultural and artistic programs, not only bringing appealing spiritual offerings to residents but also creating momentum for tourism promotion and gradually building the destination brand through large-scale, spectacular events of international stature.
It can be seen that the success of the two programs “Ha Long Concert 2025” and “Quang Ninh - The Heroic Mining Land” lies not only in their grand musical feasts but also in their recreation of an emotional journey and awakening of national pride. Music is the language of the soul, capable of connecting generations; it is an effective way to retell the story of the heroic Mining Region in a simple, sincere, yet profound manner. When patriotic music rings out, when the language of art is powerful enough to touch the heart, there is no need for lofty arguments to unite millions of hearts, awaken powerful emotions, and inspire the aspiration to contribute. Art has become a bond connecting generations and conveying the national spirit in the most natural and profound way.
