Located more than 10 nautical miles from Hai Ha District, Cái Chien Island Commune is home to Dau Rong Beach, one of the five most beautiful beaches in Quang Ninh. The island has become an appealing destination for travelers who enjoy exploring.
Cái Chien Island – Where the Beauty of Forests and Quang Ninh’s Sea Converge
Cái Chien Island is the only island commune in Hai Ha District, and has recently emerged as a destination for those who love the tranquility of forests and sea. Cái Chien is also conveniently located on an exploration route through the eastern region, traveling down from Binh Lieu or across from Ha Long to Mong Cai.

The island covers more than 2550 ha, consisting mainly of forests and sea. Its natural landscape remains relatively pristine, something not every destination can offer. To reach Cái Chien Island, travelers can take a coach or join a tour, or ride a motorbike to the center of Quang Ha Town before taking the Ghenh Vo ferry to the island.

There are three ferry departures each day at fixed times, with each trip taking about 40 minutes. Travelers who wish to stay overnight on the island can choose a homestay, container house, or tent rental. Several dozen families in Cái Chien offer homestay services.

If they do not have their own means of transportation, travelers can rent electric vehicles, motorbikes, or bicycles at guesthouses and homestays to conveniently explore the island.

Like many other islands in Quang Ninh Province, the natural landscapes on Cái Chien Island include Van Ca, Cái Chien, and Dau Rong beaches. Among them, Cau Rong Beach is the most popular, as services for visitors are already available there.

The sand here is fine and stretches for 2km, with the sea below and a decades-old casuarina forest above, making it ideal for setting up tents, camping, and group activities. Visitors can also rent a speedboat to travel across the sea or stroll among the rows of straight casuarina trees…

Van Ca Beach is famous as a beautiful photography spot, with undulating rocky outcrops and a pebble beach featuring countless small pebbles in a variety of colors and unique shapes.

Not only does it have the sea, Cái Chien Island is also blessed by nature with a rich forest ecosystem and many species of wild animals. The local cuisine is equally diverse, featuring fresh seafood harvested right on the island.

With its many tourism potentials and advantages, the number of visitors from within and outside the province coming to Cái Chien on weekends, in summer, or during holidays has risen sharply.
